SSE community calendar
The 2020 calendar from Stop Stansted Expansion went on sale in August 2019 and was completely sold out by 13 January 2020 thanks to our fantastic volunteers and local stores.
Featuring a selection of superb photos from across Essex and Hertfordshire, this is the eighteenth calendar in the series and was available for only £8. The photograph on the cover is of Chrishall church.
The pictures reflect the variety and depth of the historical heritage of the area which lies in the shadow of Stansted Airport. They show why we continue to campaign actively to mitigate the ongoing impacts from the ‘airport in the countryside’.
Take photos for SSE’s community calendar
SSE has been producing an annual Community Calendar since 2003. This much loved calendar illustrates the beauty, diversity and heritage of the area which would be threatened by proposals to expand Stansted Airport. The calendar is sold by volunteers as well as a wide range of local establishments.
The photographs are donated to SSE for no fee but the chosen photographers do receive a complimentary copy of the calendar.
Stop Stansted Expansion is already planning ahead for the next Community Calendar and, of course, we need good images for every month of the year.
So please keep an eye out for interesting features such as landscapes, buildings, nature, people at work, people at leisure and community events within 15-20 miles of the airport. We will be especially keen to receive photos taken in or around: Bishops Stortford; Broxted; Burton End; Duton Hill; Elsenham; Felsted; Great Easton; Hatfield Broad Oak; Hatfield Forest; Hatfield Heath; Henham; Little Easton including the Countess of Warwick Show; Little Hallingbury; Molehill Green; Much Hadham; Saffron Walden; Sawbridgeworth; Stansted Mountfitchet; Takeley; Thaxted and Wendens Ambo.
The landscape images inside the calendar are 29.6cm wide by 21.5cm high so we are looking for a width to height ratio of around 1.38. We also need good portrait shape images for the covers.
Please send in your images by the end of June 2020 as .jpg files to email@example.com giving details of where and approximately when they were taken.
