STANSTED AIRPORT RUNWAY EXPANSION 2007 PUBLIC INQUIRY |
The Public Inquiry ended on 19 October 2007 after nearly five months. The Inquiry followed BAA's appeal against Uttlesford District Council's refusal of BAA's planning application for an increase in the permitted number of air transport movements and the removal of the 25 million cap on annual passenger movements.
The Inspector, Alan Boyland, reported (in confidence) to the Government in January 2008 with his recommendations. The Government's decision was made in October 2008 by the Secretary of State for Transport (Ruth Kelly) and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (Hazel Blears). The Inspector's report was made public at the same time.
