We'll be serving a delicious summer Sunday lunch in the beautiful setting of the Broxted garden created by artist Humphrey Waterfield in 1936 for his house and studio built by modernist architect Erno Goldfinger. Restoration work on the gardens is now being undertaken after they fell into neglect in the 1960s, but the quality of the plantings and landscaping still shines through and will be a joy for lunch guests to tour.

Tickets £15 per head to cover pies and puds, cheese and biscuits and coffee. Licensed bar. Advance booking essential through SSE on 01279 870558 or info@stopstanstedexpansion.com

Depart between 11am & 12 noonOld Station, Four Ashes, TakeleyFAMILY FUN FLITCH WAY CYCLE RIDE
Join us for a child-friendly holiday cycle ride along the gravel surface of the former railway line known as the Flitch Way which used to run from Bishop's Stortford to Dunmow and then onto Braintree. The cycle track also forms the Northern boundary of Hatfield Forest, running directly through countryside with lovely wooded areas, rich wildlife and views over open farmland. There is no traffic which makes it ideal for those looking for a safe and enjoyable morning's cycling. Those taking part can opt for a 9 or 4.5 mile ride. Cyclists returning to the old Station at Takeley are invited to join the lunchtime BBQ.

It's free to take part since your presence is what's needed for raising awareness of the threat that airport expansion poses to enjoyment of the countryside and heritage of North West Essex and East Herts, but we'd appreciate a small donation to Stop Stansted Expansion's fighting fund if you are able to contribute.

PLEASE NOTE that car parking is at Takeley Sports Field.
